SENER and the ALBA Synchrotron have signed an agreement to market a technological solution developed at the synchrotron light source located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona, Spain).

This contract enables SENER to market an innovative method of bending X-rays, a system from the ALBA Synchrotron that includes more functions than alternatives available on the market. It has already been tested on the ALBA Synchrotron’s beamlines, with positive results.

SENER is going to expand this technology as a commercial product, as it offers a competitive advantage over current alternatives at a reasonable cost and has good prospective global demand. Apart from future needs for mirrors from both the ALBA Synchrotron itself and other similar facilities, there are sure to be other applications outside of these markets, which is an area that SENER is researching.
