Tuxpan-Tampico Highway

Mota-Engil México has awarded SENER the blueprinting of the Los Gil Intersection – Los Naranjos Intersection stretch of the Tuxpan – Tampico Highway to be built in the State of Veracruz (Mexico). SENER’s work encompasses the general construction, structures and other building works of this section.

SENER is creating the blueprint for Los Gil Intersection – Los Naranjos Intersection, totaling 54 km in length.

This highway is 106.6 km long, starting at kilometer 249 of the MEX-130 Pachuca – Tuxpan federal highway and ending at kilometer 129.4 of the MEX-180 Tuxpan – Tampico federal highway. The new highway is divided into three operational sub-sections and has an A2-type section, with possible future extension to A4-type. It has a width of 12 m, made up of two 3.5 m lanes and 2.5 m shoulders.

SENER is creating the blueprint for a section totaling 54 km in length, which corresponds to operational sub-sections 1 and 2, and Los Gil Intersection – Los Naranjos Intersection, where two intersections will be built: Los Gil and Buenos Aires. This section is to include 13 new bridges, including the bridge over the Tuxpan River. The project is being developed under the environmentally approved Right of Way.

The Buenos Aires Intersection will include two toll booths (a main one and another one on the highway exit road). An administration building and support and maintenance center will also be built for the concession operator.
